Within the framework of the delivery of the proceeds from the fundraising for charity “Abrazos Cruzados” (Crossed Hugs) the London Supply Group Foundation donated ARS 1,000,016 to “Kayú Chénén” School in Ushuaia last September 16th, 2016.

The Special School “Kayú Chénén” takes care of the needs of 230 students suffering from different disabilities. The purpose of the directors was to improve the infrastructure of the building and to get the materials needed to implement the bricolage, carpentry and orchard workshops. In addition, the director of the school, Mrs. Andrea Rodríguez Sade, told María Taratuty, director of the Foundation, about the urgent need to raise money in order to buy a van that could be used to transport children from school to their homes in different neighbourhoods in Ushuaia and vice versa. After talking to Teddy Taratuty, President of the Foundation, it was decided that the van and the appropriate equipment to suit these children’s needs would be donated as well. For this reason, the special van needed to transport these students was added to the ARS 1,000,016 donation.

The London Supply Group Foundation has been developing the “Abrazos Cruzados” campaign for the past 5 years, raising more and more money year after year in the different fundraisings organized. This is how the 1700 members of the London Supply Group collaborate to help those who need it the most. Starting from the very north of Argentina they help Puerto Iguazú, Posadas, Montevideo, Buenos Aires, Río Grande, Bariloche, Río Gallegos, Trelew, El Calafate, Caleta Olivia reaching down to the southern endpoint of Argentina in Ushuaia.

María Taratuty highlighted the importance of the effort and solidarity offered by all the people involved in the campaign as volunteers, helping to break the collection record again. The results bring hope: ARS 1,000,016 and a van to transport the students of “Kayú Chénén” Special School, giving more where there is less.
