Like the beginning of every year, on January 3rd, the traditional London Supply Cup charity tournament was held at Club del Lago Golf in Punta del Este. This special gathering brought more than 250 golf lovers together for its 16th edition, to participate in a competitive event while contributing to a noble cause. The event raised an impressive USD 781,749, which, together with a spontaneous auction for a prize donated by one of the participants, reached a final number of USD 782.149.
More than $47 million Argentine pesos will be assigned to the Foundation’s different programs. Among others, it will fund the provision of food for 1500 children who have breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea everyday at Educational Park Barrio 1° de Mayo, which was donated and sponsored by the Foundation, in the city of Puerto Iguazu, Misiones. The money raised will also help more than ten charitable canteens located in different towns within our country, and will allow the continuation of the Supersanitos Pediatric Campaign, which has provided integral medical examinations for the students of Nursery School “Madre Teresa de Calcuta” and Primary School No. 875 “Doña Mercedes García de Taratuty” for the past three years, and, as of 2019, includes a thorough dental checkup as well, as part of the “Dientes Supersanitos” initiative. The partnership with Inter Milan club will likewise continue, through their corporate social responsibility program, Inter Campus, which strives to impart values such as solidarity, team work and commitment to children through sports.
Another important goal for 2020 is to guarantee the continuity of construction work on the new educational establishment for “Las Gaviotas” Experimental Provincial School, in the city of Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego. From its conception, this model institution was forced to move around different buildings, but the money raised during the last editions of the London Cup might turn their dream of having their own establishment into a reality.
