Since April thanks to our foundation, members of the Inter came to Puerto Iguazú from Milan to present the Inter Campus program.
Inter Campus, a program of Corporate Social Responsibility of F.C. Internazionale Milano (Italy), seeks to return the right young disadvantaged people have to play, using football as a pedagogic tool to teach children between 6 and 13 years old, providing them with the possibility to enjoy their free time in a healthy, constructive, enjoyable and positive way.
Thanks to the arrangements done by the London Supply Group Foundation, which implied more than one year of work, meetings and planning, Barrio 1° de Mayo located in Puerto Iguazú city, is now one of the two cities in Argentina currently offering this Program.
The Inter Campus program has been operative worldwide since 1997 implementing social works, both flexible as well as long term, in 29 countries with the support of local NGOs that receive daily training through the technical area of Inter Campus by means of socio-sportive techniques. This program has been applied in Argentina, especially in the Province of Buenos Aires, since 2004 though the PUPI Foundation, founded by Javier and Paula Zanetti. They both joined their strengths for the mission they share of offering a place where children could be rescued from the main problems related to the generalized poverty and also where children could be given the possibility to add ludic and educational activities to their daily lives.
From now on, thanks to our arrangements, the children that are part of the Educational Area Barrio 1° de Mayo will also have the possibility to be part of this training program.
With this purpose, on April 14th, members from the Inter came from Italy and were part of a meeting that was unforgettable both for them as well as for the children. The meeting started with a warm welcome to the members offered by the students of the Escuela No. 875 “Doña Mercedes Garcia de Taratuty” together with heads and teachers. The orchestra “Doña Mercedes” -composed of children from the neighbourhood- offered a musical show and the members of Inter Campus gave full sports equipment to all the children that were part of this program.
The development of the program consists of three years of sport training for each group of students. During those years, motor, emotive, cognitive and social content will be offered to the children through ludic and sportive activities with the purpose of helping them to develop values such as responsibility, teamwork and ethical behaviour. The activities and classes will be taught by gym teachers of the Educational Area who have already been trained by coaches of Inter Campus.
As always, we sponsor the three educational establishments that comprise this Educational Area that nowadays receives more than 1200 students and that was designed, built and donated to the State by our Foundation.
Once more, the members of the London Supply Group Foundation cross borders and honour our beloved Barrio 1° de Mayo and, in particular, the students, teachers and families that are part of this community.
