Faced with the fires that have occurred in the northeast of the country, hundreds of wild animals have had to flee the flames in search of shelter, being exposed to the dangers of crossing routes and roads, or cornered in the few spaces where they still found water and food, far from its habitat. After the fire has been extinguished, the situation is still desperate, with a high rate of injured species and in need of relocation.

As part of our commitment to biodiversity, we have joined the mission of the GÜIRÁ OGA Wild Animal Shelter in Puerto Iguazú, which, together with the Biodiversity Missionary Institute, the Professional Council of Veterinary Doctors of the province and other organizations, have created a network of care posts located at strategic points in the region, to work on the rescue, healing and rehabilitation of the affected fauna.

On Saturday, March 19, in an act held at the refuge facilities, we made a donation of medical supplies to supply the posts: first aid kits fully equipped with antibiotics, painkillers, anti-inflammatories and all the necessary supplies for the work of the veterinarians.

This catastrophe has had a very serious impact on the ecosystem of the region and we consider it essential that, from the private sector, we become aware of this situation and be an active part of the solution.

We thank the doctors of our “Supersanitos” campaign for the supplies provided and the students of the “Barrio 1° de Mayo” Educational Park for joining us at the event with drawings on the theme.
