For twenty years Duty Free News International has hosted its annual “Charity Ball”, a well-recognised event that invites global members of the duty free industry. Each year large sums are raised for various causes, raised from the generosity of the hearts of the guests, and donated to causes in their local countries.
This year funds were raised for the C.A.R.E.S charity, a charity chosen by the Duty Free Shop Philipines. The charity helps victims of the Haiyan typhoon, which hit the Philipines in 2013.
2014 saw the turn of the ABC foundation, a foundation supported by the Buckley Jewellery company. The funds raised were used to construct an orphanage in Kyasira, Uganda.
In 2013 our London Supply Foundation was the chosen charity. The total raised was $450,000, which went towards the construction of the “Mother Teresa of Calcutta” nursery school, in the Primero de Mayo neighbourhood, in Puerto Iguazu, Argentina. The total raised in 2013 astonished all involved in the event, and was a record amount.
Since then, London Supply Group decided to donate €5.000 annually, thus continuing to contribute and stand for the causes of our colleagues from the Duty Free Shop industries.
