Within the framework of the annual donation of the campaign “Abrazos Cruzados”, the London Supply Group Foundation donated last Thursday 21st September, 2017 the amount of ARS 1,013,842 to the Hogar de Cristo, a social association that groups different Neighbourhood Centres with the purpose of assisting people in a situation of social vulnerability and/or abusing of psychoactive substances by putting people and their qualities in the first place.

The Hogar de Cristo was founded 10 years ago with its first unit, the Centro Barrial Alberto Hurtado, a home that hosted people with addictions that could visit the centre when needed. The complexity of addictions goes beyond the consumption of substances and transcends to all the aspects of life. For this reason now there are 37 Neighbourhood Centres throughout the country that offer assistance and several heterogeneous social activities such as carpentry, cinema workshops, music workshops as well as health support by means of medication and psychological treatment.

The donation was handed over in the context of a “choripaneada” (Argentine food) organized by the foundation in which all the people that attended to have lunch and shelter from the rain told us their stories about the difficulties of overcoming addictions and being homeless.

This was the 6th consecutive edition of the Campaign “Abrazos Cruzados” that increases the collections year after year. The peculiarity is that the campaign is financed solely by the employees of the holding. The 1700 employees of The London Supply Group assist those who need it the most. Their actions go from the north in Puerto Iguazú, then Posadas, Montevideo, Buenos Aires, Rio Grande, Bariloche, Río Gallegos, Trelew, El Calafate, Caleta Olivia to the Southernmost point in Argentina: Ushuaia. The Foundation is proud of each of its employees because thanks to their participation a new record was achieved raising the extraordinary amount of ARS 1,013,042. This big step allows us to help improve the quality of life of those that due to several reasons are left behind. We always work trying to give more where there is less.
